The Challenge

Technicians relied on fragmented tools to access vehicle data, document repairs, and manage service workflows. There was no unified, mobile-friendly interface for secure access, VIN-based lookups, or consistent storage of images and videos, limiting productivity and creating operational friction at the dealership level.

Our Solution

The solution was delivered in two concise phases. Phase 1 focused on a secure, user-friendly foundation with modern authentication (including MFA and SSO) and a responsive web/mobile interface that allowed technicians to log in, scan repair order tags, upload images, and quickly access vehicle details. Phase 2 expanded functionality with VIN and R/O tag lookups via third-party APIs, structured image and video upload workflows (including vehicle lift inspections), customer notification capabilities, and data pipelines designed to support future AI training for auto part identification.

Results & Impact

Kohl Brands delivered the application full-stack, from frontend experience to backend services and cloud infrastructure. The platform improved technician efficiency, enhanced the dealership’s service experience, and was engineered to scale as AI capabilities are introduced. Notably, the entire solution was optimized to run within the AWS Free Tier, demonstrating strong cost discipline alongside functional and architectural maturity.
